Our SEA Scholarship Programme provides support to pupils who are academically brilliant and come from financially disadvantaged families.

We are proud to support the students on their educational journey. We are buoyed by the fact that in our first year, we started with two pupils and in 2018, the programme expanded to 37, bringing the total intake to approximately 200 pupils since the programme’s inception in 1996. Our goal is to provide the tools to help our children realise their academic dreams.

UTC’s Schools’ Investment Game was first launched in 1991. Now, decades later, the game continues to make an educational impact throughout secondary schools by introducing students to financial literacy and the world of investing.

Participating teams adopt investment strategies by constructing their own portfolio of financial securities offered by the UTC, shares of companies listed on the domestic stock exchange, and shares of companies traded on the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.

We acquaint secondary school students with the benefits of investing and help lay the foundation for developing financial management in their own lives. In 2018, 15 schools participated, with Palo Seco Secondary School making a clean sweep of the top three positions — for the fourth time in the history of the game. Each year, the winning students earn internships with UTC during the July/August vacation.
