PERSONAL SECURITY TIP: SKIMMING

TTUTC Personal Security Tip: Skimming

Card Skimming Fraud is a type of theft that is becoming more prevalent in Trinidad and Tobago.
According to the Minister of National Security, in 2017 & 2018, over 27 million dollars was stolen
from bank customers through skimming. Skimming happens when fraudsters use card reading
devices at either point of sale or ATMs, to copy card information and clone your card.

Protect yourself against card skimming by taking the following steps:
 Always keep your card in sight, especially at a point of sale machine.
 Review your UTC bank transactions regularly by checking your activity via UTC U-online
or an ATM mini statement
 If you misplace your card, immediately call the UTC to have it blocked and replaced at
your earliest convenience. Be sure to verify your last transaction activity

You can use any of the options below to report suspicious activity:
 Call 625-8648 any time between 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, even on public holidays!
 Email CardandOnlineServiceRepresentatives@ttutc.com and report suspicious

Affidavit of Claim Form for suspicious transactions.
