Iere High School walked away with the 1st prize in the UTC School’s Investment Game. Iere High School not only copped the first prize in the UTC game designed to increase awareness of various investment instruments, but also won three (3) consecutive monthly prizes for November, December and January. Also in winners row for monthly prizes was the team from Presentation College, Chaguanas, that won the monthly prize for October edging out overall second place winners of Game Holy Faith Convent, Couva. For the second time in three years, St Benedict’s College has taken the 1st prize in the annual Unit Trust Corporation Schools’ Investment Game. “The Student Investment Game (SIG) is very interesting, it gives me an opportunity to keep abreast with the local investment market, it helps the student to do research both on-line and in the daily newspapers. As a teacher the game brings the subject of Economics to life in the class room”, said Mr Chandrahans Roopchand, teacher of the winning St. Benedict’s Team.
