The Unit Trust Corporation announces payout of over TT$130m ($0.50 per unit) in The Growth & Income Fund (First Unit Scheme)
: The Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation (UTC) has announced their largest dividend payout in three years in the Growth and Income Fund (First Unit Scheme) and all its related plans. The value of the dividend payment, for the period January 01 to June 30 2008, is estimated to be over TT$130 million and represents the 51st distribution payment of the twenty-six year history of the Growth and Income Fund. This was despite falling international stock prices and a fluctuating local market.
Unitholders in the UTC’s Growth and Income Fund on the register as at 30th June 2008 will benefit from the distribution payment of $0.50 per unit on September 16, 2008. This payout will bring the total distribution since inception of the Growth and Income Fund to over $TT1.5 billion.
“This shows we remain dedicated to providing investors, large and small, with consistent and sound returns together with a variety of investment options,” said Marlon Holder, Executive Director of the UTC. In 2007, the UTC expanded their product range to include an International Suite of Funds, enhanced Merchant Banking services and personal investment solutions through their Business Development Unit. In 2008, the UTC launched their online investment service, UTC U-Online, which currently attracts customers from over 90 countries worldwide.
