Growth & Income Fund

The Growth & Income Fund is a great way to invest for the long term. The fund is invested in shares of local companies trading on the stock exchange, government and government guaranteed bonds, short-term securities, United States investments and regional investments

When you buy units in this fund you share in some of the most profitable publicly traded companies in Trinidad and Tobago. A diversified portfolio of stocks and other investments ensures maximum income and growth for your investment for a conservative risk profile.

The price of a unit is calculated daily and is based on the value of securities in the Fund on that day. Given the nature of the investments in the Fund the opportunity exists for the value to increase thereby increasing the value of units. This means that units can be worth a lot more than you paid for them. There is an OFFER PRICE (the price at which you buy units) and BID PRICE (the price at which you sell back units) for unit transactions.

Distributions

Units will also attract distributions; these distributions are paid twice yearly and are based on your unit holdings on the 30th June and 31st December. Your total return is the capital appreciation in price of the units purchased plus distributions for the period.

This fund also carries a Price Guarantee Provision to protect you from loss. The guarantee provides that if the units are held for at least three years from the date of purchase, one can never again get back less than was paid for the unit. Even if the unit is selling for less at that time, the investor still gets back what was paid plus dividends for the period. Of course if the unit is selling for more than you paid for it you will get that higher price instead.
